Marcus was fourth born to Herschel and Margana Wengart in 1985. He has four siblings, Josette, Ryan, Shelli, and Dillan. His paternal grandparents are Dennis Wengart and Sharon Franchini; on his mother's side, Larmon Daines and Julia Winthur. He married Genevieve Beauchamp in 2008 and has two children, Katherine, born in 2011 and Philip, born in 2014.
Marcus is tanned, handsome, physically fit, has a deep love for animals of all kinds. He spent his elementary school summers on his Papa Dennis’s farm, tending to the horses, cows, sheep, goats, cats, dogs, chickens, and any other wild and tame animal that happened to cross paths with him. From early on, Marc knew he wanted to become a loving veterinarian, growing up with a pair of Irish Setters that he cherished and saw many litters come from them.
In his neighborhood of Winthur’s Gardens in Bozeman, Montana, Marcus was the go-to guy during his high school years for caring for the needs of all the animals of his neighbors and for his own family pets. His interests ranged from dog training for service animals, working after school in the local animal clinic, to running and playing in the fields with his dogs.
Marcus was and has always been wise for his years, a loving and respectful son, well-liked by everyone who knew him, admired by his siblings for his compassionate heart and gentle sense of humor, and the girls at school sighed when he walked by them in the halls. His thoughts were almost always animal care centered, so many prospective dates might have been limited unless the girl shared Marc’s interests.
Marc’s second love was music, especially the French horn, since he once saw a picture hanging in the museum showing a group of bloodhounds surrounding a man blowing a French horn signaling the beginning of the hunt. At his young age, he didn’t realize until much later what the hunt signified, but the love of the mellow instrument stayed with him.
Marc is tall, lean with broad shoulders, and strong enough to easily carry new-born calves and foals after assisting his granddad, “Papa” in their birthing. He has short brown hair, hazel eyes which people notice immediately because he looks at them in a way that shows he really cares about them and can be trusted with anything they tell him in confidence. He has a positive, optimistic view of life, and it is a pleasure just being around him. Marcus’s servant heart is evident in everything he says and does.
He just has one secret passion: motorcycling! For the longest time, in high school, he would go over to his Uncle Andy’s place in Billings on weekends to learn how to ride Andy’s Harley Davidson “Hog”. His uncle, Herschel’s youngest brother, bought him a Yamaha YZ250F off-road motocross bike for his high school graduation. His parents were alarmed at first but trusted his judgment on wanting his symbol of freedom and adventure.
