Nicholas Dern

  Nicholas (Nick) Dern was born in Ireland in 1980. At the age of 10 he immigrated to America with his family including his older brother Aiden who was 12 at the time. Nick married Shelli Wengart in 2003, and they have three children: Stephanie, Laurel, and Patrick.

Nick is known for his eidetic memory, which allows him to recall detailed images and information with remarkable accuracy. He is also a talented artist, particularly in painting, and an accomplished violinist. Despite his dry sense of humor, Nick has a lot of love for his family and is loyal to his longtime friends.

Nick's clothing style is versatile, ranging from classic business attire to casual jeans and sport coats. He is also known to look great in a tuxedo. He is a loving father and husband, a devoted son and brother, his best friend. Coming from a middle-class heritage, Nick's family started with nearly nothing when they immigrated from Ireland. Through hard work, setting goals, and receiving support from family, relatives, the Irish community, and friends, they built a good life while blending Irish culture with American tradition.

Nick enjoys various activities, including football, soccer, polo, swimming, hanging out with friends, family gatherings, and working with the disabled. He dislikes dishonest liars, people who take advantage of the weak, insincere and phony individuals, injustice from elected or appointed officials, and psychological game-playing.

During high school, Nick was the debate team leader, the first chair violinist in the community orchestra, and a member of the swim team. He met Shelli Wengart when he was a junior, and she was a freshman in high school. Their first kiss was at the ages of 16 and 18, and they were crowned Prom King and Queen. Nick graduated as the valedictorian of his high school in 1998.

After high school, Nick enlisted in the Coast Guard Reserves from 1998 to 2000. He then attended Montana State University from 2000 to 2004 and went on to law school from 2004 to 2006. Nick passed the bar in 2007 and began working at a prestigious law firm. He and Shelli asked her father, Herschel, to build a home for their growing family, with Shelli's brother Dillan serving as an apprentice architect at CLM Inc., Herschel's company, to help design the plans.

Nick's parents are Liam Dern and Rosalee O’Brian Dern, and his sibling is Aiden Dern. Nick is described as serious, reserved, responsible, an amazing student, loyal, and possessing flawless ethics. He is 6'2" tall, slim, very handsome, with black hair, strikingly clear hazel eyes, a great athletic build, and a winning smile, although he smiles infrequently. Nick is healthy, moves deliberately, and is methodical in his actions. 

Nick and Shelli are loving soul mates. He was welcomed with open arms into the Wengart family even before their wedding in 2003. 

His keen mind served him well in his first law firm, and the couple decided that it was time for him to strike out on his own at the birth of their son, Patrick in 2012.
